Exploring Social Constructivism: Innovative Infographic for Vygotsky’s ZPD

Illustration of tower crane as a metaphor in building within a zone of proximal development

I studied Social Constructivism during my Graduate Certificate of Innovative Learning Design course at QUT. I gave myself the graphic design challenge to create an alternative infographic for Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) concept. It’s usually represented as concentric circles (the basis of the roundel symbol in my logo). However, I wanted to strengthen the idea of building the knowledge within the ZPD so I used climbing steps and a construction site metaphor.
